I guess all my life I have been fascinated with sunsets. I see them as great works of God's paint brush. Racing pigeons have also fascinated me from my teenage years. One of God's magnificent creations. I started with the birds when I was about 16. Over the years for various reasons I had to give them up. Three years in the American Army. Then  home to N.Y. State, married and started raising a family. When we purchased our first home within weeks I had a small loft built. The original birds were given to me by my old friend Mike Trivisone who flew under the name "Blue Goose Loft" out of Staten Island, N.Y. He was a great pigeon man and the one who first introduced me to homers.

My first loft was smaller but looks very much like the one you see on this page . Mike told me after I built it that he had  wanted to build one like it for many years.

Today I am 70 years young. and still fascinated by both sunsets and racing pigeons. I guess some kids never grow up.

WELCOME TO MY LOFT

Three convex mirrors and a plastic owl help to distract hawks. They seem to be effective with transit hawks. Resident hawks adapt to them in a short time.

This picture is over the loft door and was painted by a friend's wife. Merci Michelle!
