I use Belgian clay bowls with nest pads but got tired of buying so
many pads each year but even worse
was the bowl cleanup every year. So what I do now is after the pad
is in the bowl I open up a single
newspaper sheet. Set the bowl in the center and proceed folding
the sheet to the center of the bowl as
shown. Then take a 3 foot or so piece of inch and a half masking
tape and run it around the outside of
the bowl so only half is stuck to the outside of the bowl and then
fold the rest to the inside of the bowl.
this keeps the paper in place but more importantly protects the
paper on the edge of the bowl from
being torn up. The last two pictures are of a used bowl before and
after the paper has been torn off
with no other clean up done to it. As you can see it's ready to
be rewrapped and reused.
