As much as we enjoy our birds there is one task most fanciers find to be laborious. Cleaning the loft. The task can be made a little easier with some additions. Here is a tray that can be used in nest boxes. Placed under a wire rack the bird droppings are quickly and easily removed. I use a similar tray arrangement under the perches and in front of the feeders. The sketch has no dimensions only because they would be determined by your nest box size. My boxes are made of 5/8" x 16" melamine shelving.  Standard 16" wide wire form shelving works well in my loft. The shelving is cut to length with a bolt cutter.

The masonite bottom of the tray is nailed to the 1 x 2 front. No side pieces are used on the tray. The masonite and 1x2 are painted then coated with a teflon spray which makes them extreemly easy to clean. The dropping slide off the tray with little effort.
